About

Lucy Schmidt as Young Julia in 'They Go Blind'

Hey! I'm Lucy, welcome to the about page. I use she/her pronouns, I'm an east coaster, and I'm always on the hunt for a decent bagel.

I began performing at the age of six, my first production was showing my skip-it skills off at a Christmas Party, and I never looked back.  Growing up in South Orange, New Jersey; I had incredible opportunities to learn about performing from Broadway stars and other professionals. By the age of twelve, I knew that there was no other path for me. I performed in every musical and play I could, and made my equity debut as a senior in high school in a production of The Tall Girls by Meg Miroshnik, co-starring in the role of Puppy. After high school, I moved to Los Angeles and attended AMDA College of Performing Arts.  I completed my BFA degree in October 2019. Since then, I have found success in voice over, theatre, and short films.

In between projects, I can be found running around sets behind the scenes, playing a very intense game of Dungeons and Dragons where I do not know any of the rules, reading, painting, and trying to get my cat to love me.

As a Voice Over Artist my voice has been described as unique, young, natural, and grounded with a raw raspiness. I have a vocal range of boys/girls/non-binary 4-20 years.

As an actor I'm the sarcastic smart girl, the put-upon sister, the dark character in a light show, the acerbic Disney princess

I truly just enjoy playing. Every role is a new chance to explore a different aspect of myself and linking it to the characters I play. For me there is no greater joy than storytelling, and I feel very lucky that I get to act, play, and create for a living.
